More about the Parmenideum

The Parmenideum is the outcome of a concept shared by a small group of people interested in philosophy and science and who live in Salerno and the Cilento.

The concept is a very simple one: to provide a forum for formal and informal learning, discussion and debate in the service of critical thought - whilst also enjoying the delights of southern Italy.

The Parmenideum hosts two kinds of encounters:

Informal talks and meetings, ideal for people wishing for a vacation with a meaning.

Visitors can stay at beautiful locations and choose to engage in the discussions and talks as much or as little as they please.

Being in a beautiful location and also relatively close to many places of interest (such as Naples, Rome and Sicily) , it is possible to obtain the best of both worlds while staying at the Parmenideum - both pleasure and learning.

Formal seminars, attended by academics presenting their ideas and works. As in the case of informal talks and meetings, academic seminars offer a wonderful opportunity to both enjoy the Cilento and do something "useful and interesting" as well as potentially fruitful.
